| Making 3D beadwork started after being given a beaded orange as a present by Kitty.
Based on its actual proportions, the orange is infact a mandarin. When held in the palm
of the hand, the clear orange and green beads sparkled in the sunshine coming through the
window; it was incredible!
The perfect geometry, the symmetry, the uniqueness, the fact that I had not seen anything like it before was amazing. The mandarin echoed the simple honeycomb structure constructed by bees. I wanted to know how this item was created. In the past I have bought beads and some thread to string them up; that was the extent of my capability. This mandarin opened up a whole new world for me. I have been bead-crazy ever since. | |||||
